If you have questions regarding the payment, please contact Dmitri

Cancellations have to be made to Dmitri
Melkumov in writing only. In the event of cancellation before
June 30, 2005, 50% of the participation fee shall be refunded. Thereafter
no refund can be made.
Liability
The participants are themselves liable for any losses, accidents
or damage to persons or objects, regardless of the cause. Participants
and accompanying persons attend the conference and all accompanying
events at their own risk and responsibility.
The train
We will have 2 coaches for ourselves, 9 cabins in each, 2 people
accommodated in each cabin (and then some extra places elsewhere
in the train). The participants need to arrange their own eating
and drinks on the train. More info about the trains for example
here.
And please become acquainted with visitor
infos.
Flights
The participants should arrange the flights to Moscow and from
Beijing themselves. The first seminar will be on Sunday 11.9.05
afternoon starting at 16.00 at the Hotel Rossija. So a good time
to arrive is on that Sunday 11.9.05 morning, or Saturday 10.9.05
evening or even before if you want to spend more time in Moscow.
In that case please arrange your own accommodation. The last seminar
and dinner will be in Beijing in the evening of Tuesday 20.9.05.
Please note that we are currently organizing various pre-conference
activities in Helsinki and St.Petersburg; so, if you want to take
part in these, it might make sense to wait with your flight bookings.
For example with these airlines the flights from Europe to Moscow
and from Beijing to Europe can be done at the moment for around
or below €500, which is not too bad:
Estonian Air,
Pulkovo Airlines,
Ryan Air; for
Aeroflot and Turkish Airlines, see for example
www.e-flights.de
or www.ebookers.com
Hotels
The participation fee includes the following accommodation:
a) Sunday 11.9.05 night in Moscow in Hotel
Rossija
b) Wednesday 14.9.05 night in Novosibirsk in Hotel
Zolotaya Dolina
c) Sunday 18.9. Monday 19.9. and Tuesday 20.9. nights in Beijing
in Hotel
Tsinghua Unisplendour International Center
d) Many nights in the splendid moving Trans-siberian hotel in cabins
for two
Everybody is accommodated in double rooms throughout the journey:
double rooms in Moscow, two people in each cabin in the train, double
rooms in Novosibirsk etc. If you have somebody with whom you would
like to share your rooms, please let Dmitri know. Otherwise we will
set you up. If you absolutely necessarily, urgently, need a single
room everywhere or somewhere, please let Dmitri know, but you will
have to pay for the difference yourself since the
single arrangements are substantially more expensive.
The first seminar will be on Sunday 11.9.05 afternoon starting
at 16.00 at the Hotel Rossija. If you want to spend more time in
Moscow, it might be a good idea to book your room at Rossija for
the days before. Also the last seminar day in Beijing will be on
Tuesday 20.09. If you want to stay longer in Beijing, it might be
a good idea to stay longer at Hotel Tsinghua Unisplendour International
Center. But in both cases you will have to do your bookings yourself.
Visa Information
All conference participants are responsible for organizing their
own visas for Russia and China. Information on how to obtain visas
have been sent to participants by email. If you have further questions
about this, please contact Dmitri
Melkumov.
Russian Visa - Action Steps!!
1. Please check whether you need a visa to go to Russia. This can
be done by contacting your local Russian consulate.
2. If you do, we shall require your passport details. Please be
sure to give precise information, as any inconsistencies, however
small and seemingly insignificant, could affect the whole group
when either getting the visas or actually coming to Russia. The
info that you are required to send to Dmitri
is as follows:
a. Lastname, First Name, Middle/other names
b. Date of birth
c. Nationality
d. Passport number
e. Date of expiry (please make sure its valid at least 6 months
after the planned exit from Russia)
f. Dates of arrival and departure (if e.g. you are planning to stay
a while before our trip)
3. As soon as we get this information from everyone who needs a
Russian visa, we shall ask our travel agent to compile a letter
of invitation, containing the whole group, on the basis of which
each single participant is resposible for actually getting a Russian
visa her/himself from the local consulate. Fax or email copy is
enough.
Naturally we are not going to use the passport details in any other
way, and shall delete them from our database as soon as the letter
of invitation is issed. If you still feel uncomfortable sending
this information to us, we then would kindly ask you to arrange
the visas to Russia on your own.
4. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FINAL DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING YOUR
DETAILS AS PER ABOVE IS THE 6TH OF JUNE!
We will send the list compiled by the 6th of June to our agent
and any late submissions will have to be taken up by the participants
themselves.
WHEN SUBMITTING, PLEASE USE "RUSSIAN VISA" AS
A SUBJECT LINE. PLEASE SEND ALL THE ABOVE INFO DETAILS TO DMITRI
BY EMAIL AT dmitri.melkumov@hanken.fi
